Time Management Forms - Annual Exercises Personal Constitution (2 hours to write; 20 minutes to evaluate quarterly and annually after that): Write a personal constitution that articulates your highest values. Keep it shorter than 1 page long, but be sure to include the many areas of your life, including family and friends, spirituality, career, money, health, physical environment, fun and recreation, and any other areas that seem important to you. Annual Goal Setting (1-2 hours): Set your main goals and areas of focus for the year. Choose no more than 4-5 personal goals. Try to make your goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound). Also, be sure to include evaluation criteria, resources you'll need, milestones, due dates, and ways you will reward your self. Time Management Forms - Weekly ExercisesIdentify the Most Important Activity Next Week in Each Role (10 minutes): Identify the most important 6-7 roles you play in your life at this point in time. Rank them. Be sure to include both personal and professional roles. Your list might look like this: - Husband
- Father
- Son
- Professional Role #1
- Professional Role #2
- Friend
- Volunteer at XYZ Charity
(Note: The list above is not meant to imply a right or wrong way to rank your roles. It's up to you. The most important thing is to figure out what your priorities are.) Once you have identified the roles, identify the most important activity you have to do each week in that role. For example, for your role as Father, it might be "Take my daughter hiking." Here's a free template for the weekly roles planning.
