What you'll find on this page - and on the rest of the site - are my sincere recommendations for your lasting personal growth and development. I hope you enjoy this site and that it proves valuable in your life in some way. Best wishes! Adam
 1) Assess Yourself and Create Goals Just like a traveler on a voyage, you'll want a clear direction and a map of where you're going. As you move along your personal and professional growth journey, I recommend taking some time to assess yourself - your values, priorities, goals, strengths, and weaknesses - and then develop a plan. To do this, I recommend starting with the Create A Growth Plan page. Thoughtfully walk through the Step 1: Assessment exercise to think about what you want to create in your life. Then, do Step 2: Create Goals and Plan to create a roadmap for your personal development. (If you'd like more help with setting goals, be sure to check out: the power of setting personal goals, goal setting (how to), tips on setting goals, sample personal development plan, free worksheets for setting goals, and SMART goals examples.)

2) Plan Your Learning and Development Once you've assessed and set some goals, visit the main pages in each of the areas of personal growth you're interested in. These main pages below have information and links to many more articles on self improvement with strategies, techniques, and resources: (To quickly see all the pages in a section, check out the Site Map.) Also, as you're looking for tools for your develompent, be sure to check out the pages with My Favorite Resources and YOUR Fav Resources (Resources Suggested by Visitors). You'll find lots of recommendations for great books, products, websites, and other cool stuff.
3) Let the Words of Eastern and Western Thinkers Inspire You Quotes from wise folks help keep me going during tough times. As you build your personal growth plan, check out the lists of quotations for inspiration. Note that my quotes pages are not endless lists of quotations. Rather, they're handpicked quotations and stories I love. Find a few that resonate with you and capture the essence of what you need to help fuel your efforts in times of struggle. Here's a quick list of the quotes pages:
4) Learn About the Mechanics of Personal Growth
As I mentioned above, BPGR is committed to providing outstanding, free information to our readers about lasting personal growth and behavior change. (Not the easy psych-yourself-up-just-take-responsibility-just-do-it answers you find in many articles on self improvement!) To create lasting personal growth, it's helpful to understand the mechanics of human behavior change. I would recommend reading these few articles: In these articles I'll share some of the key principles - learning, reflection, practice - that go far beyond cheap psych-yourself up approaches offered on many other sites with articles on self improvement.
5) Deliberate and Thoughtful Practice, Practice, Practice As the saying goes, "You haven't learned something until it's in the muscle." The idea is to take action on your plan. Practice it and build new habits. But how you practice makes a difference. Deliberate and thoughtful practice brings results; simply going through the motions does not. Practice doesn't make perfect, but it does make permanent. Neuroplasticity will cause your brain to rewire itself according to what you do. You may not become what you dream or what you aspire to be. But you will become what you do. So practice thoughtfully and correctly.
6) Share with the Community Let us know how it's going! I've built the YOUR Fav Resources forum section for people to share successes, tips, and offer up suggestions to the community. If you've had a great success, or found a great resources, we want to hear about it! Please do come back and share. Your post may benefit people around the world!
Well, there you have it. I think approaching this site and your personal growth in a systematic way can lead to wonderful accomplishments. That said, you can find many great articles on self improvement simply by browsing around, following the trails of "Related Articles" at the bottom of each page, scrolling through Full List of Articles on the Site Map, or going to Search the Site.
